BioDr. Rao is board certified in General and Interventional Cardiology. He brings with him 25 years expertise. He received his Internal Medicine training from PGIMER, Chandigarh and MRCP from London, UK. He completed his cardiology training from Drexel University, Philadelphia. He trained in Interventional cardiology at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, New York, which is renowned for complex coronary interventions at low complications, under the guidance of some of the best Interventional cardiologists in the field.

He has worked as Medical Director of cardiac catheterization laboratory. He specializes in transradial (procedures through the arm) heart catheterization as well as trans radial peripheral interventions, advanced techniques in preventing amputations, catheter-based treatments of blood clots and other venous diseases.

Dr Rao strongly believes in partnering with patients in educating all aspects of their care with emphasis on preventive cardiology. He constantly thrives to bring most up-to- date techniques to help his patients to get the best possible care.

Though he is dedicated to clinical cardiology, he has strived in academic medicine, having authored several peer-reviewed publications and presentations in major National as well as International Conferences.

He moved to the area with his wife and a child and is pleased to bring his training and expertise to serve the patients of area. He enjoys photography, playing chess, tennis, bike riding and hiking.
